Hello and Welcome! My name is Margaret.

Creating Divine Spaces is where I share simple tips and ideas for creating engaging and appealing spaces where family and friends can gather to share a meal in a relaxed and caring environment.

I’m a passionate believer that the meal table is a space where families and friends can build strong lasting connections through sharing stories, knowledge and memories.

A space where each member is given the chance to be heard and encouraged to share their own unique journey in their own time, and where families and friends can feel free to relax after the hectic pace of everyay life.

Whether it’s sitting around the dining room table, a picnic at the beach or dragging your table to a favourite spot in the garden, Creating Divine Spaces is about the little things we can do to make everyday mealtimes and celebration meals special.

I think of it as The Art of Little Gatherings.

I say Art because that’s how I see the world. The table is a blank canvas to me. I love to mix and match colour. It’s a legacy of my years in the fashion industry. Art is also defined as a skill attained by observation. Growing up in Wales and being ‘Chapel Welsh’”as they say, my parents ran a grocery store and catering business which mostly catered for weddings in our local town. I can remember when I was around 7 years old being taught how to set the tables for the wedding breakfasts, how to fold the serviettes and watching as my mother skillfully arranged the flowers.

I’ve styled tables for my own fashion events and also fundraising events with the skills I’ve learnt all those years ago. We’ve shared many meals with our family and friends some wonderful, some not so wonderful. Usually, with everyone joining in to help in their own special way. I’m fortunate that my children’s Grandparents on both sides have helped to pass on the meal table tradition to my children.

We are brand new empty nesters now. It’s just my husband and I with our 17 year old Poodle named FiFi. My son and daughter both have lovely dining tables where they share their own meals and gatherings. It’s a tradition that’s been passed on to them which I hope will last through the generations.

I understand that life can get very hectic especially for those of you with young families and I look forward to sharing simple tips and ideas to inspire you and your family to create your own unique style and space where you can eat well and connect with the people you love. Please feel free to share your own ideas and comments with me too. Looking forward to sharing together one meal at a time.

Margaret
